Shipping Containers in Geelong, Colac and South West Victoria

The south west runs from coastal townships through to dairy and grazing country, so what matters on delivery day varies a good deal across the region.

Access. A tilt tray needs clear straight-line access of roughly twice the length of the container, plus room to bring the truck in and out. Along the coast the usual constraints are narrow township streets and steep driveways; inland it is farm gates, low branches and soft paddock edges. Where access is tight, a side loader or crane may suit better.

Ground. The ground should be reasonably level and firm. A container carries its weight on its four corner castings, so uneven or soft ground can twist the frame and make the doors hard to open. Compacted gravel, concrete or hardstand is ideal, and timber chocks can be supplied on request. Our administration staff and drivers will happily guide you if you have any concerns about ground suitability.

Coastal exposure. Containers sited near the coast will weather faster in salt air. If the container is going somewhere exposed, it is worth talking to us about condition and paintwork before you choose between new, refurbished and used stock.
